Stevie reported that our Club has a balance of $6,897 with $95 in outstanding checks.
Katy Gibson will be the Treasurer for the rest of this year since Stevie is now President.
Plant Sale and AHLF Plant Cart
Judy Froning gave a BIG thank you to all who helped make the Plant Sale so successful.
She said that the team effort resulted in $1,150 for our scholarship fund.
She is already planning for the next Plant Sale this June. Cuttings will be available at our January meeting so members can begin propagating for the June plant sale.
Judy, who is also chair of the AHLF Plant Cart, explained the watering procedure for members volunteering to help. Reminder was made that all plants must be succulents and all pots must have holes. We share the profits with the Lagoon and are paid on a quarterly basis.
Stevie reported that our last check was for $140.
Leesa Potocki, on behalf of the Club members, presented Judy Froning with a gorgeous orchid plant. We are very appreciative of all her work involved with the Plant Sale and Plant Cart!
Petals for Patriots – Pennies for Pines – Mary’s Jar:
Ellen McGrath-Thorpe explained Petals for Patriots and Pennies for Pines to encourage
volunteers. Dos Gringos Florist has provided flowers for the 3 large vases taken to Camp Pendleton each month. As a tribute to the owners of Dos Gringos for their generous contributions Ellen made a fabulous sunflower themed quilt. They specialize in sunflowers!
Stevie thanked Ellen for her many hours of volunteer service and to Dos Gringos for partnering with us!
Ellen also described how Mary’s Jar, started by Lifetime Member Mary Tornborg,
provides funds for our scholarship fund. Many thanks were given by all to Mary.
Cindy Netherton motioned for members to bring guests to the potluck. Liza Potocki seconded.
Jodi Trax encouraged members to check out the Exchange Table. She thanked members for bringing items. Jodi reminded members that items that don’t sell need to be taken home.
